ATLANTA, November 20, 2024 – Bird Loechl McCants & Holliday (BLM&H) represented Atlanta Hardwood Corporation (AHC) and several AHC executives in connection with the formation of a North American joint venture with Oy Lunawood Ltd. (Lunawood).
BLM&H corporate and securities partner, W. Hunter Holliday, led the firm’s transaction team and worked closely with associate, Quincy Jackson, to advise AHC and its executives on all aspects of the transaction. BLM&H associated the Washington, D.C. office of Alston & Bird LLP to advise AHC on antitrust (Adam Biegel and Abigail Cessna) and transfer pricing (Richard Slowinski), and the Atlanta office of Alston & Bird LLP to advise AHC on real estate (Mike Davis).
Founded in 1952, AHC is a global distributor of Appalachian hardwood lumber and an importer of African and South American hardwoods. Lunawood is a pioneer in thermally modified wood products used in architecture, building and design. Lunawood is owned by Accent Equity, a private equity firm based in Stockholm, Sweden. ArentFox Schiff served as Lunawood’s U.S. counsel.
Based in Cleveland, Georgia, the joint venture will manufacture thermally modified wood products for distribution in North America and globally through Lunawood and will serve as Lunawood’s North American distributor of thermally modified wood products produced in Europe.
