Lexi Nichols

Admitted to the Georgia Bar in the fall of 2024, Lexi counsels nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals on tax-exempt compliance, corporate governance, and commercial real estate transactions. She focuses on helping clients navigate complex legal and regulatory challenges to achieve their strategic goals.

Biography

In the fall of 2024, Lexi joined BLM&H as an Associate in the Nonprofit and Tax-Exempt Organizations, Commercial Real Estate and Corporate & Securities practice groups. Prior to joining BLM&H as an associate, Lexi worked as a Summer Associate for BLM&H, where she researched and worked on projects regarding a variety of legal matters, including data privacy and charitable solicitation. In spring of 2024, Lexi worked as an extern for Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, where she helped provide legal assistance and educational programming to artists and arts organizations. At Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, she also hosted a seminar on copyright ownership, assignment and licensing. In fall of 2023, Lexi participated in the Georgia State Law Health Law Partnership as a student attorney, where she assisted clients with various cases including childhood disability, special education, access to healthcare, and other legal issues involving children’s health and overall well-being. Lexi also clerked for Judge Jason B. Thompson at Fayette County State Court, where she researched a variety of legal issues presented in both civil and criminal cases, assisted the staff attorney in legal analysis, and prepared initial drafts of judicial orders.

Lexi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Legal Issues in Sport, from the University of Alabama. Afterwards, she earned a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law, where she served for two years as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Professor Shenita Brazelton in her Lawyering: Foundations I and II classes. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Lexi offered student support and mentoring in legal writing, including holding weekly office hours with students, assisting students with research and legal analysis strategies, grading student memoranda and briefs, and teaching classes on proper Bluebook legal citations. Lexi also served as Secretary for the Intellectual Property Law Society and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.

Outside of work, Lexi enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her dog Remi, and cheering on Alabama football.

Experience

Worked as a summer law associate at Bird, Loechl, McCants & Holliday, where she worked on projects regarding a variety of legal matters, including data privacy and charitable solicitation

Externed at Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, where she provided legal assistance and educational programming to artists and arts organizations.

Externed in the GSU Law Health Law Partnership legal services clinic, where she served clients whose children are patients of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in various legal matters.

Interned at Fayette County State Court, where she worked under Judge Jason B. Thompson in various criminal and civil cases.
